Following on from the tremendous success already enjoyed as a Club this season, Armagh RFC won yet another award last week as the Clubs Mini section was given the Community Sports Award at the Armagh Sports Forum annual dinner for the second time in 4 years.
The award recognises the club which, in the opinion of the Forum, has done most to provide all parts of the community with access to well organised and structured coaching and training as well as bringing together participants from all of Armagh City and District.
Last season, Armagh Mini Rugby had over 190 registered players drawn from 39 different schools in the area, giving them a reach currently unrivalled locally.
Club President, Norman Morton, commented, "This award underlines the hard work put in by many people in our mini rugby section, particularly the coaches who give up so much of their time to look after and train their respective age groups, and the parents who help out on match days serving food and refreshments to all our visitors. I would particularly like to congratulate Paul and Judith McCord who are stepping down this season after 6 years in charge of the mini rugby, it is fitting that the Club should win this award in their last season." |
