Armagh Mini Rugby Win Community Sports Award 28th May 2008

Following on from the tremendous success already enjoyed as a Club this season, Armagh RFC won yet another award last week as the Clubs Mini section was given the Community Sports Award at the Armagh Sports Forum annual dinner for the second time in 4 years. 2008 End Of Year Mini Rugby Festival 12th Apr 2008

Armagh Rugby Clubs traditional end of season mini rugby festival took place last Saturday at the Palace Grounds between 11:00am and 4:30pm. In all, 880 players between the ages of 7 and 12 were present, representing 9 clubs from around Ireland, and between them playing a staggering 120 matches in total. Armagh Mini BLITZ - Sat 12th April 2008 - 10am KO 09th Apr 2008

This Saturday sees Armagh’s traditional end of season mini rugby tournament. This year promises to be bigger than ever as some 57 teams representing 8 clubs will be present. There are tournaments at all age groups from P3 up to First Year, and all in all around 900 young players will play throughout the day.

Visiting clubs include Coolmine, Navan, Virginia, Dundalk, Portadown and two newcomers this year in Boyne and Mullingar. Play will commence at 11:00am sharp and will go on through the day until approximately 4:30pm.

All Armagh players should report at 10:00am as usual.

Armagh Minis vs Ballynahinch - Sat 05th April 01st Apr 2008

Armagh Minis host Ballynahinch this Saturday, 05th April, at the Palace - there are games for all age groups from P3 to First Year, with training as usual for the P1 and P2 group.
Players should be at the Club for 10:00am as usual. 
 
 
Training Sat 29th March at 10:00am 27th Mar 2008

After an Easter break, Armagh Minis begin training again this Saturday at 10:00am as the build up to the end of season tournament begins. There will be matches for all age groups from P3 to First Year at home on April 05th against Ballynahinch, and the seasons finale will take place on April 12th.

Already teams from Coolmine, Navan, Dundalk, Monaghan and newcomers Boyne are confirmed with other clubs expected to confirm their attendance in the next week.

All in all there will be some 800+ players at the Palace that day providing a real festival of mini rugby, as usual Armagh Rugby Club would like to invite all to come along and give support to all teams but especially the Armagh sides.

With the Easter holidays upon us there will be no Mini Rugby this weekend at the Palace Grounds.

 
 
 
Mini Training and Dungannon Match 03rd Mar 2008

Last Saturday Armagh Minis made the short trip to Chambers Park to play local rivals Portadown. Most teams met with success, the First Year team managed a highly creditable draw.

Next Saturday sees training as usual for all groups at 10am, the following Saturday there are matches for P3 to Yr 1 groups at Dungannon. Coaches will leave the Palace at 9:30am and return around 12:30pm. 
 
 
Mini XV vs Portadown - Saturday 01st March 25th Feb 2008

Last Saturday Armagh minis made the long trip to Dublin to play our annual fixtures against Coolmine. All teams acquitted themselves excellently, and as always in Coolmine were treated in an exceptionally hospitable manner. Most sides met with success on the day and will hope to continue that trend this weekend when they make the short trip to local rivals Portadown.

There are matches for all age groups from P3 to Yr 1, with the P1 and P2 groups training as usual at 10:00am at the Palace. Players going to Portadown should be at the Club for 9:15am, buses will leave at 9:30am sharp, expecting to return between 12:00noon and 12:30pm.
 
 
 
Annual Mini Pilgrimage To Coolmine 18th Feb 2008

This Saturday Armagh Minis will be making their annual pilgrimage to Coolmine in Dublin. There are matches for all age groups from P3 upwards, with training as usual for P1 and P2 groups at 10:00am in the Palace Grounds.

Players travelling to Coolmine should be at the Club for 8:30am, buses will be leaving at 08:45am. We expect to get back to Armagh Rugby Club at approximately 2:30pm.  As usual, all parents and supporters are more than welcome to travel with us.
 
 
 
Armagh Minis vs Monaghan Minis 12th Feb 2008

Last Saturday saw Armagh Mini Rugby host near rivals Monaghan at the Palace.Unfortunately there was no match for our P3 group but all others from P4 to Yr 1 were able to show off their skills in front of a fairly large crowd . Most groups ended up being successful with the P6 side coming out level and all others victorious. Pride of place this week must go to the P7 team who followed up their recent victory over a previously unbeaten Cooke team by convincingly defeating their Monaghan rivals 21 tries to 3 with a superb exhibition of running rugby and strong defence.

This week sees training as usual at 10am, and on the following Saturday, 23rd February, we undertake our now annual pilgrimage to Coolmine RFC in Dublin. There are matches in Dublin for P3 to Yr 1 teams, training at the Palace as usual for the P1/P2 group. For this fixture, players should be at the Club for 08:30am, buses will be leaving at 08:45am. We expect to return around 2:00pm.
 
 
 
Minis Coach In des Sables Marathon Charity Run 22nd Jan 2008

One of Armagh's Mini Rugby coaches, Mike Boyd, will be running the Des Sables Marathon this year in aid of the Wooden Spoon charity, the official charity for the Home Unions and a charity which focuses on assisting underprivileged and handicapped children.

Armagh Minis vs Cooke - Saturday 26th January 22nd Jan 2008

This Saturday sees Armagh Minis take on Cooke at the Palace Grounds. Matches will kick off at approximately 10:30am, players are asked to be at the Club for 10:00am as usual.

There are matches for all age groups from P3 to P7, unfortunately Cooke do not have an U12 side so they will train as usual from 10:00am until 11:15am.

This week, Saturday, 12th January, Armagh will host Dromore at the Palace Grounds - players are asked to be at the Club for 10:00am as usual.

Armagh Minis vs Navan Minis 08th Jan 2007

Last Saturday saw Armagh Minis play host to Navan as a precursor to the AIL Junior Cup match  - over 120 visitors came North and certainly made an impression both on and off the field.

Matches were played at all age levels from P4 up to First Year and it's fair to say that overall the visitors were as successful as their senior team proved to be later...

Mini Rugby Christmas Festivities 11th Dec 2007

The next two Saturdays will see Christmas festivities for all concerned with Armagh Mini Rugby  - first up is some playtime for parents an friends with music at the Club this Saturday, 15th, beginning at 9pm . Music is by The Cornerboys and admission is £5.00, all funds raised go to supporting the costs of Mini Rugby .

Then on 22nd Dec is the annual players party, with all players and family welcome. As in previous years there are a raft of amusements and parents are asked to support in the usual way by supplying crisps, drinks and snacks of whatever variety. The party begins at 11:15am and ends between 12:30pm and 1:00pm.
 
 
 
Armagh Minis vs Portadown Minis 04th Dec 2007

Last Saturday saw Armagh minis play host to Portadown in the latest installment of the rivalry between both clubs on the field this season. The Palace was awash with players as both clubs had good numbers across the age groups.

Ultimately Armagh proved more successful with victories in all age groups - particular mention this week to Paul Reaneys P3 group who emerged 13 tries to 2 ahead over their 2 games and despite the cold conditions, all groups entertained a large amount of parents and spectators throughout the morning.

Next week sees training as usual for all age groups at 10am.  
 
 
Mini Rugby Supper Dance - Sat 15th December 30th Nov 2007

The next social event of the Mini Rugby season will take place on Saturday 15th December with a night of music (and dancing for the more co-ordinated). Music will be provided by the Cornerboys in the upstairs bar of the Rugby Club and will kick off at 9pm going through to the wee small hours.

As usual with these events, all money raised will support our ever larger Mini rugby section, providing funds for transport, our end of season tournament, and the kids Xmas party amongst other things. Admission is £5 each, and all parents, family, friends and club members are asked to come along and support this event.  
 
 
Armagh Minis vs Monaghan And This Week's News 20th Nov 2007

Last Saturday saw Armaghs minis travel the short distance to Monaghan. Despite atrocious conditions all teams coped well with both the weather and the opposing teams. Each side played a number of game and in the main were victorious, wth most credit this week going to the U12 side who won well despite playing a much bigger side.

Saturday coming has training as usual for all age groups at 10am, any parents who have still not submitted all the relevant registration documents are asked to do so this week as the deadline for registration is imminent .
 
 
 
Armagh Minis Away To Monaghan 13th Nov 2007

This Saturday sees Armagh Minis undertake the short trip to play Monaghan. There are matches at all age groups from P3 up to Yr 1, buses will leave the Palace at 09:30 sharp, players and travelling supporters are asked to be there for 09:15. There will be training as usual for the P1 and P2 groups starting at 10:00am although we will finish 15 minutes earlier than normal at 11:00am due to home youth matches. 
 
 
Armagh Minis vs Lurgan 22nd Oct 2007

This Saturday, 27th October, sees Armagh Minis make the short trip to Pollock Park in Lurgan. There are matches for all age groups from P3 to Year 1 and the buses leave from the Palace Grounds at 9:30am with return expected to be around 12:30pm. P1 and P2 groups will train as usual in Armagh.
 
 
 
This Saturday 13th Oct Fixtures Vs. Dungannon 08th Oct 2007

This Saturday's fixtures, 13th October, against Dungannon are now at home .Players should report at 10am as usual, there are matches for all age groups from P3 upwards. Training as usual for P1 and P2. The match originally to be at home against Dungannon next March will now be away. An updated match schedule can be found on this website. 
 
 
Mini Rugby Table Quiz - Friday 12th October 08th Oct 2007

This Friday evening, 12th October, sees the first of our social events this season. We will be running a table quiz in the downstairs bar in the Rugby Club with all proceeds going towards the Mini section, helping us meet the ongoing costs of equipment and entertainment of opposing teams.

All parents, friends and members are urged to attend and support the mini section. The quiz will start at 8:30pm and admission is £5.00 per head. 
 
 
Changes To Mini Registration 06th Sept 2007

It has just been announced that from this season all mini rugby players in Ulster will now have to be formally registered with the Branch in the same way as Youth and senior players. This means that there will be some extra administration to be done by all at the start of this season. In addition to the Club registration form, all players now must complete an IRFU registration form as well as provide a copy of their birth certificate and two passport sized photographs signed on the reverse...  View Report
 
 
Mini Rugby Re-commences 8th September 13th Aug 2007

Armagh Mini Rugby will re-open its doors, after a deserved summer break, on Saturday 8th September. Training will run from 10:00am until 11:15am each week with matches at regular intervals right up until our end of season tournament next April.
