The Community Cup, Armagh RFCs floodlit tournament for U14 and U16 teams reaches a climax this Wednesday night, 19th December, as both finals are played out between Banbridge and Monaghan. In a slight change from previous years, the organisers have decided to run the finals back to back rather than concurrently as there are families with sons playing in both age groups, so with this format parents are not shuttling between pitches... This weeks Semi Finals in the Community Cup saw Banbridge take on Randalstown at both U14 and U16 level. In the senior game, Banbridge proved the more clinical team, more able to finish the chances which came their way. Hosts Armagh made their debut on a wet and windy night at the Palce last Wednesday against Randalstown, who had previously knocked out Lisburn. This Wednesday sees home team Armagh debut in this years Community Cup. Both U14 and U16 age groups will play against Randalstown, who defeated Lisburn in both age groups last time out.

With Newry forced to withdraw from the U16 match due to a flu outbreak at the club, only Banbridge and Lurgan U14s were at The Palace Grounds to contest the third of the Quarter Finals in this years Community Cup. This weeks Community Cup matches see the third set of quarter finals in Armagh RFCs floodlit tournament fo U14 and U16 teams. After Enniskillens defeat at the hands of Monaghan last week, both of last years winners have been eliminated so it really is all to play for. On Wednesday at 7:30pm, Banbridge make their first appearance at this years event, and take on Lurgan at U14 level and Newry at U16s. There is an element of local interest to this fixture as the winners could play against Armagh if the home team can get past Randalstown in their own quarter final next week. |

Armagh Rugby Clubs floodlit tournament for U14 and U16 sides is now at the quarter final stage. This Wednesday sees last years U14 champions, Enniskillen take on Monaghan at both age groups . As Monaghan defeated last years U16 champions, Ballynahinch, in the preliminary round in October, both matches promise to be very competitive, as both clubs rank amongst the favourites for this years tournament. |
