| Armagh have been nominated along with Letterkenny and Portadown as Club of the Year at the upcoming Ulster Rugby Awards. The winner will be announced at a dinner in mid May and although up against strong rivals Armagh must have a good chance given this years successes.
Not only have the 1st XV won the Towns Cup, Junior Cup and Past Players Cup as well as finishing third in JQ1, the 2nd and 3rd XVs have won their respective leagues and are still in the Harden and Ravenhill Cups.
In addition, the U18s are in the final of the CE Bowman Trophy at Ravenhill while they also reached the semi-finals of the Knutty Krust tournament, as indeed did the U20s in the Roland Barr.
While both Portadown and Letterkenny have strong claims to the award given their League successes (in Portadowns case with their 2nds also) as well as both coming in runners up in Ravenhill finals, Armaghs strength and achievements as a club this season will take some topping.
What is also encouraging is that all three clubs nominated are from the Junior ranks, proof of the vibrancy of the Junior divisions. Win or lose all three have success to build upon, congratulations to all three on their nomination, but best wishes to Armagh on the night.
