Armagh Rugby Club are looking for volunteers to help out with our Youth Rugby set up for the forthcoming season and beyond. In order to compliment the work done by our Youth Development Officer and to ensure we have the proper structures in place for providing a development platform for our young players who either come through from Mini Rugby or feed into the Club because of YDO activity we need people to help us with the following roles:


Club Youth Convenor (1)

Responsible for managing the Youth section , ensuring fixtures are fulfilled and that all players are registered with the Club as per Ulster Branch regulations. Further, this individual must ensure that all teams satisfy the rules and regulations of any given competition in which they participate. This person will work closely with the Youth Team Managers to ensure adherence to the above and will also ensure the requisite transport and supervision for all teams when at home and away.Will also assist in the running and co-ordination of the Floodlit tournament.

Youth Team Managers (3)

Responsible for assisting the Youth Convenor in the running of each of our Youth Teams, U14, U16 and U18, and will provide support for the Team coach in all off pitch aspects. Ideally will form a small group from parents or relatives of each team to ensure constant supervision of the team while playing home and away and if required will assist Team Coach in training sessions.

Youth Team Coaches (3)

Responsible for coaching and training of our U14, U16 and U18 teams, these individuals will control all aspects of the onfield side of the Youth Teams.

They will work closely with Team Managers and Club Youth Convenor to ensure that all teams adhere to all aspects of competition rules, and will provide a structured environment for all young players in their charge to enjoy the game and develop their team and individual skills.

Please be aware that all individuals involved in Youth Rugby must sign up to the IRFU Code of Ethics and must also undergo the POCVA background check. If you are interested in helping us develop our youth section and to provide a controlled and structured environment for our players of tomorrow, or have any questions regarding these roles, please contact either:

If you are interested in the coaching side of things Armagh RFC will meet the costs of any courses you may require. Please make sure you contact the club and get approval before doing any courses.
