Armagh 3rds returned to action last weekend with a weakened side till the one that had previously beat Hinch 7ths 28 - 10. Armagh also started the game with 14 men as players cried off minutes before the match.
Even though with this disadvantage Armagh held of for the first 25 minutes 0 - 0, unfortnately with banbridge continuously counter attacked and theie efforts paid off with Armagh missing tackles letting Banbridge in for their first try.
Armagh rallied aftrer this and contiued to counter attack with Naill Chapman making hard work for Banbridge. Then hands in the ruck lead to Banbridge landing a penalty, leaving the score 8 - 0 at the half.
After the half Armagh gathered themselves and continued to attack but with last phase ball letting them down, then with easy mistakes landed Banbridge their 2nd try of the game. After this Armagh lifted their heads with numerous counter attacks from Davy Faloon, Matthew Calvert, Naill Chapman and Steven Menary Armagh got on the score board with Davy Faloon receiing the off load to go over. Conversion was missed.
Straight after this Banbridge answer with another try, leaving Armagh trailing 13 - 05. Armagh soon replied with another try of their own with a fine solo run from Davy Faloon for his secong try of the game.
With miutes remaining Banbridge ran in their 3rd try, leaving the final score 18 - 10. But credit is due to this young Armagh team who have not played together. All players are urged to attend training or let captain Gareth Warnock know in advance if their our aviable to play this weekend or not. |
