27th August 2007

24th August 2007

To: Honorary Secretaries

Dear Honorary Secretary

Suspension following the issue of Yellow Cards.

This is a reminder that with effect from 1 st September 2007 the accumulation of yellow cards by an individual player will be in the following circumstances result in automatic suspension.

(i) Where a player accumulates three yellow cards for all offences over a number of games in any one season, an automatic one week suspension will follow the issue of the third yellow card.

(ii) Where a player is issued with two yellow cards in the same game, a red card will be issued and an automatic one week suspension will follow.

(iii) Ref (ii) above: should the second yellow card be given for a straight red card offence then the player will appear before the Ulster Branch Disciplinary Committee as per existing procedures.

Appeals against the receipt of a yellow card must be made in writing to the Honorary Secretary of the Ulster Branch within 72 hours of the issue of each individual yellow card.

Suspension will only apply to matches played under the Ulster Branch Competition rules.

Clubs and where possible players will be notified in writing of the imposition of a suspension.

I would ask that you endeavour to notify all players of this new regulation as soon as possible. To assist we enclose a poster which you may wish to photocopy and place in each changing room.

Yours faithfully,

David Boyd

Provincial Domestic Game Manager
